An important notice regarding your Vodacom Messaging Account
We have all heard of the Phishing scandals that have done the rounds with Internet Banking.
What happens is that clients will receive an e-mail, asking them to login to their account to verify their details, or to activate their account. This e-mail is not sent from the company concerned.
If you click the link, it will take you to a website that is not the real website – you’ll be able to see that the website address is different. The owners of this illegal site then hope to trick you into completing and submitting your login details. They will then receive them and try to access your real account.
Why are we telling you this?
An e-mail has been circulated requesting people to login and update their details to avoid suspension, on their Vodacom Messaging accounts. These are all invalid and not sent by Vodacom Messaging. The mails are an attempt to obtain your login details.
Vodacom Messaging would like to alert you on this criminal activity which could be fraudulent means to access your confidential information.
Security Tips
• Please always ensure you are on the legitimate https://www.vodacommessaging.co.za website by looking at your URL address.
• We will never ask you to update your details online or in an email!
• Take note that our website is digitally secure – you’ll see a “Lock” icon and the address includes “HTTPS” at the front of it.
• You can change your password regularly.
Login Alerts
You are also welcome to make use of our Login Alerts facility which will automatically SMS or Email you when you login to your Vodacom Messaging account.
To take advantage of this facility, please follow these simple steps:
• Login to your account at https://www.vodacommessaging.co.za
• Click “Manage Account”
• Click “My Notifications”
You will then be able to choose from the SMS and Email login alert options.
